The Directorate of Teacher Education & State Council of Educational Research & Training came into existence as an independent Directorate on 15th January 1990 after acquiring its present status from the State Institute of Education.
District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Sundargarh is the District level branch that came into existence on 10th November 1988 after 1st phase of up-gradation of Government Secondary Training Schools in the State as per recommendations of New Education Policy, 1986.
The vision of the institution is to facilitate transformation of fresh students and teacher communities into good human being, responsible Citizens and competent professionals, focusing an assimilation, generation and dissemination of knowledge.
Our mission to impart quality education to meet the needs of profession and society and achieve Excellence in Teaching-Learning and Research.
It gives me immense pleasure in announcing the launch of new website of DIET, Sundargarh, Sankara. I extend my heartful regards and greetings to all the viewers/ stakeholders in this auspicious occasion. DIETs have been providing handy support in fostering elementary education in the state of Odisha and across the country as well. The pre-service and in-service programmes have been revolutionary in bringing a positive change in the prospect. In the district of Sundargarh DIET has a promising role in successful implementation and execution of the teacher training programmes. For that, appreciate the untiring efforts of each and every staff, especially the faculty members and congratulate them in achieving the targeted goals each time. I hereby convey my gratitude for each on of them.
